OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Operation Christmas Child is a global outreach effort of Samaritan's Purse, led by Franklin Graham, and Walt & Bev Chapman will be leading our efforts to help them.  For those who would like to get involved, a stack of brochures with all the details has been placed on the south foyer table.  The completed boxes can be placed on our kitchen's west side counter, and they need to be here by Friday, November 18th.

THANKSGIVING/HARVEST LUNCHEON

A Thanksgiving/Harvest Luncheon has been scheduled for Sunday, November 13th, right  after the morning service.  The menu will include stew, cornbread, the beverages and dessert, and you don’t need to bring a thing.  Please mark your calendars now and plan to join us.

OUR THANKSGIVING OFFERING

We will be receiving our annual Thanksgiving offering for World Relief on Sunday, November 20th and a special video clip on their ministry will be shown on November 13th.  The offering will be given to World Relief for use at their discretion.  In 2010, in partnership with the local churches, World Relief impacted 4,092,652 people – empowering them to move from danger to safety, disease to health, hunger to food security, and poverty to opportunity.  Please pray and ask the Lord what He wants you to give to help the poor.

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE

The Upper Sandusky Area Ministerial Association will be holding their annual Community Thanksgiving Service at Liberty Church of God (on the corner of Wyandot Ave. and 7th Street) on Wednesday, November 23rd at 7 p.m.  Pastor Scott Moore will be bringing us the message, non-perishable food items will be received for local distribution and the offering will be going to a local ministry that is yet to be determined.

CHRISTMAS IN AMERICA

The American Policy Roundtable will be presenting a “Christmas in America” concert at the Medina Performing Arts Center in Medina, Ohio on Saturday, December 3rd at 3 p.m.  The concert will feature Phil Keaggy & Friends.  The tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students.  To order tickets call 1-800-522-8683 or visit them at www.aproundtable.org.

LOOKING AHEAD

Members of our church will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at one of our local stores on Sunday, December 4th from 1-7 p.m.  A Women’s Cookie Exchange/Craft Day is being planned for Sunday, December 11th from 2 to 4 p.m.  Our Children’s Christmas program will be part of the morning service on Sunday, December 18th and our Candlelight Christmas Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. that night.  A coffee & Doughnut Fellowship will be held from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. every single Sunday in December, and to top it all off, we’ll be celebrating the birth of our Lord on Sunday, December 25th with a very special service in His honor.

ANGEL TREE

Salvation Army’s Angel Tree provides a way for us to help those who are less fortunate get Christmas gifts for their children.  Sign-ups for those who’d like to help, and those in need, will be held at Trinity Evangelical Church on November 18th, 19th, 21st-23rd and 25th & 26th from 9 a.m. to noon.  The gifts must be returned by Friday, December 9th for distribution on Wednesday, December 14th from 3 to 9 p.m.

FINAL NOTES AND REMINDERS

1. The next “Discovering Church Membership” Class will be held on Saturday, December 10th from 8 a.m. to noon.  The sign-ups will be going through next Sunday.

2. The Area Agency on Aging has issued the new income guidelines for the 2011-12 Home Energy Assistance Programs (better known as HEAP).  That information has been posted and we have some applications in the office.

3. Emily Gilliland will be putting together an informal cookbook with the recipes you plan to bring to the Christmas Candlelight Dinner on the 18th.  You can pick up extra forms from the center foyer table and return them to the basket there by the 11th.
