Announcements

DISCOVERING CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

Pastor Bill will be offering our new member's class, "Discovering Church Membership" on Saturday, March 10th from 8 a.m. to noon.  This one-session seminar is the 1st step in our "Stepping Stones" program and it is required for those who would like to join the church.  Please let us know if you’d like to attend.  For more information on the Stepping Stones program, see the orange flyers on the south foyer table.

COMMUNITY LENTEN LUNCHEONS

Two area churches host weekly community luncheons during the Lenten season every year on Wednesdays from 12 to 1 p.m.  The women's luncheons are held at St. Paul Lutheran Church and the men's luncheons are held at First Lutheran.  The women at St. Paul suggest a $3.50 donation.  Nursery is available but the children won't be fed there, so you'll need to feed them at home before you come to the luncheon.  The schedules have been posted and they both will start Wednesday, February 22nd.

THE BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG

Bethel Pro-Life Ministries has provided us with a quantity of empty baby bottles for their Annual Baby Bottle Boomerang.  They are asking us to take them home and fill them up with coins, checks or currency for their vital ministry, and to return them to the church by Sunday, February 12th.  You can get your bottle from the box that we have placed under the center foyer table, and that’s where they’ll be going when returned.

FAMILY TO FAMILY CLASSES

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is offering Family to Family classes for parents, friends and caregivers of persons suffering with a mental illness.  The course will be held 12 consecutive Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., starting March 5, 2012 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 8919 S. State Route 53, McCutchenville.  Classes and materials are free.  To register, please call the NAMI office at 419-334-8021 or e-mail information@namissw.org.

PROM DRESSES

John Stewart U.M. Church has over 400 formal dresses that they’d like to give away to any girl in need of one for their prom, wedding or any other special occasion.  For an appointment,  please  call  Tammy  Clifford  of  “Sisters-In-Faith”  at 419-294-5756  or 419-310-9079.

“EGGS  FOR EASTER”

“Eggs for Easter” is a community project sponsored by the Upper Sandusky Rotary Club and its purpose is to involve members of the community in an effort to provide new clothing for children in need.  You can donate to the Rotary Good Eggs for Easter Fund by sending a contribution to the Upper Sandusky Rotary Club at P.O. Box 16, or you can adopt a child by picking up an egg with a child’s age and clothing size at Commercial Savings Bank, Community First Bank, First Citizen’s National Bank or Huntington Bank starting on March 2nd.  To sign up a child in need, call or stop by the Dept. of Job & Family Services before March 1st.

LOOKING AHEAD

Besides today’s Sweetheart Fellowship Luncheon and next Sunday’s Breakfast Fellowship, Emily has scheduled a March Breakfast Fellowship for Sunday, March 11th from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and a Mystery Luncheon for Sunday, March 18th right after the morning service.  Please mark your calendars now and plan to join us then.
