SALVATION ARMY KETTLE DRIVE
We have agreed to help our local chapter of the Salvation Army with their kettle drive at Walmart again this year on Monday through Thursday, December 2nd thru the 5th, from 4-7 p.m. each night. The sign-up sheets with 12 one hour time slots will be going through this morning, and we need two people in each slot.
OUR CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS DINNER
Emily Gilliland is working with Don and Patti Spiegel to prepare for our Candlelight
Christmas Dinner which will be held on Sunday, December 15th at 6 p.m. The menu will include Italian chicken breast, meatballs in a beef gravy, green beans and the beverage. There won’t be any charge for this great meal, but they’re asking each family unit to bring a side dish or a dessert. Please feel free to invite your family, or anyone else you’d like to bring along. To help us with the set up and the food preparation, a sign up will be going through this morning. All we need is your family name and the number in your party.
YOUNG ADULT PARENT’S MEETINGS
The Young Adult Parents Fellowship/Study Group will be meeting tonight in room 21 from 6-7:30 p.m. They are now in a series on a book entitled, “Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family” by Paul David Tripp. These meetings are for any and all parents with children still living at home. Adult supervision is provided for children 2 years of age and up, and nursery care is available as needed. Those who are planning to attend should read chapter 4 in advance. See Dan Barth for the rest of the details.
LADIES CRAFT DAY
Carolyn Kelley will be leading a Ladies Craft Day in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday December 4th from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. Please plan to enter through the South Side office door. They’ll be making Christmas cards, sewing kits for next year’s shoeboxes, or whatever else you’d like to work on. And she’s asking all of us to save – old cards, small scissors, thread, needles, safety pins, straight pins, ribbons and small pieces of fabric.
OPEN DOOR FUNDRAISER
In an effort to raise some extra funds for the Open Door Resource Center, Janice Karcher and her son Dwain Karcher are taking orders for certain homemade baked goods after our services each Sunday through December 8th. The items ordered each week will be available for pick up the following Sunday. You can place those orders at the kitchen pass through window.
CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN
The Upper Sandusky Area Ministerial Association will be showing “Christmas With the Chosen” at the Star Theatre at 2 pm on Sunday, December 22nd and there won’t be any admittance fee. However, they’re encouraging folks to bring canned goods or an offering for our local food pantries.
FINAL NOTES & REMINDERS
1. Copies of Our December Birthday/Anniversary Calendar
are still available on the center hallway table.
2. WENS is no longer in service so we won’t be
able to use it for our urgent prayer concerns.
3. Gary & Cheri Mack reported that 1041 shoeboxes
were received from the churches of Wyandot County
and that our church contributed 130 of those boxes.
